Aaron Broussard - Jefferson Parish President - Caring Human Being

MR. BROUSSARD: Nobody's coming to get us. Nobody's coming to get us. The secretary has promised. Everybody's promised. They've had press conferences. I'm sick of the press conferences. For God sakes, shut up and send us somebody.

Just as Cindy Sheehan is every soldier's mother, the mother who drowned in thatnursing home is America's conscience finally waking up. As Malcolm X said when JFK was assassinated, the chickens have come home to roost. The neocons won't give up easily, but they're finished. American society is far morethan the sum total of individual wants and assets; it is a dense network of commitments that people have to one another and among generations and classes too. To those who wave flags and say These Colors Don't Run, I say These Ties Don't Break. Nice try, though, you selfish, meanspirited, arrogant lowlifes. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9179790

Promises, promises, promises ... then death Sun Sep 4, 2:45 PM ET NEW ORLEANS, United States (AFP) - Day after day, the aged woman clung tolife in her submerged nursing home. Day after day, her son called to say help was onThe way. But rescue never came. Only a watery death.

Aaron Broussard, president of the Jefferson Parish section of New Orleans, could not stop bawling Sunday, as he told NBC television of the agonizing death of a colleague's elderly mother in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

"His mother was trapped in St. Bernard nursing home, and every day she called himand said, 'Are you coming, son? Is somebody coming?'"

"He said, 'Yeah, mama, somebody is coming to get you. Somebody is coming to getyou."'Somebody's coming to get you on Tuesday.

"'Somebody's coming to get you on Wednesday.

"'Somebody's coming to get you on Thursday.

"'Somebody's coming to get you on Friday.'"

"And she drowned Friday night!" Broussard wailed. "She drowned Friday night!"Broussard quivered with rage as he gave voice to the frustration felt by much of thebattered southern city at the slow pace of rescue operations after the hurricane strucka week ago.

"Nobody's coming to get us. Nobody is coming to get her," he said.

"Everybody's promised. They've had press conferences. I'm sick of the pressconferences.

"For God's sakes, shut up and send us somebody."

FIVE DAYS THIS WOMAN AND HER SON WAITED AND SHE DROWNED FIVE DAYS LATER, THIS IS MURDER, BUSH REFUSED TO PREAUTHORIZE AID TO JEFFERSON PARRISH THOUGH IT WAS ONE THAT WAS PREDICTED TO HAVE THE WORST TIME AND BUSH DID PREAUTHORIZE HELP TO ALL OF THE REPUBLICAN DISTRICTS EVEN IF THEY WERE NOT IN AS MUCH DANGER.

Saw that, just heartwrenching! - For once Russert did an adequate job.

The video of Aaron Broussard is on Crooks and Liars. Many good videos of reporters breaking down at the inhumanity of Bush's mass murder and refusal to send even water to these dying people in NOLA.

Actually, it looks as if Broussard lied about the chronology of the woman's death. She died on Monday, August 29. Tom Rodrigue, the son, called the nursing home on Saturday and on Sunday (before the hurricane), attempting to get local authorities to evacuate, but couldn't convince them to do so. The nursing home's operators are facing charges of negligent homicide as a result.

Bush has many things to answer for in connection with the Katrina aftermath. But despite Broussard's comments on Meet the Press, this particular woman's death turns out not to be one of them.

Will look up your link.

There is so much disinformation it is hard to know what to believe but to see how far the bush regime will go in disinformation see the rebuttal to FEMA Detention Camps linked on the homepage of AboveTopSecrets.com.

On the 7th page the disputee is outed.

I tried john callender's link and it said the account was no longer active, so I see no proof that Aaron Broussard "lied".

Karl Rove and the bush regime is well known for it's lies, smear campaigns and forged documents - see uranium, yellow cake and Downing Street Memos.

Rep. Lee started a Resolution of Inquiry over the Downing Street Memos that particular lie could get bushco the death penalty for treason.

Sept 26 - Democratic Underground.com had on their front page, a second interview with Aaron Broussard where Tim Russert tried to smear him. Broussard fought back and won and said "It wasn't a box of Cheerios we buried." There is a copy of the downloadable video on Canofun.com and Crooks and Liars.com should have it soon.
